Dr. Christopher Michael is a board-certified Dallas Neurosurgeon and has been in private practice at Baylor University Medical Center since 2001. He completed his undergraduate degree at Duke University. He then went on to medical school and completed his neurosurgical residency, both at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. During his residency, he also spent time at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for surgical training and research activities. Dr. Michael practices at multiple hospitals in Dallas and is a Clinical Assistant Professor, the Department of Neurosurgery, Texas A & M College of Medicine, Dallas campus.
Dr. Michael has received numerous accolades for patient care and has served in leadership roles including Chairman of the board of managers at Methodist Hospital for Surgery. He has also served as director of the state-of-the-art neurosurgical operating facilities at Baylor University Medical Center, which include intraoperative MRI for the brain, as well as, image-guided surgery for the brain and spine.

Minimally invasive spine surgery, including outpatient treatment of lumbar and cervical herniated discs, is among Dr. Michael’s surgical specialties. Dr. Michael’s expertise also includes spinal instrumentation and fusion and complex spine reconstruction, microsurgery for tumors of the brain and spine and endoscopic pituitary surgery. In addition to his work as a neurosurgeon, Dr. Michael has an active radiosurgery practice, which utilizes non-invasive beams of radiation for brain tumors, acoustic neuromas, and trigeminal neuralgia. He also participates in clinical trials to treat brain tumors, and his work has been published in both the Journal of Neurosurgery and Neurosurgery, the leading neurosurgical journals.

In his spare time…
Dr. Michael enjoys being back in Dallas where he was raised. He lives with his wife, their 3 children and too many dogs to count. He loves traveling, hiking and walking at least one of his dogs as often as he can. They are members of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Christian church.
