Dr. Mayer’s Testimonials

What a blessing! Definitely better than a five-star. I have suffered from chronic neck pain for some time now. Made appointment with Dr Mayer we talked and he listened. He said with confidence I think I can help you. So for the first time in a long time I felt hopeful. I had surgery on June 16th of 2021. I feel like a new woman. I have very little pain . Dr. Mayer is a great surgeon . He is kind and compassionate and confident doctor. He has a great bedside manner he really cares. I would recommend him highly. I feel very blessed to have found him.

Highly skilled neurosurgeon! I was referred to Dr. Mayer for a second opinion for a laminectomy and removal of a T4-T5 spinal tumor that was severely compressing against and adhering to my spinal cord. Based on his care, concern, excellent credentials, thorough explanation of my condition as a medical emergency and need for immediate surgery during the initial consult, Dr. Mayer instantly earned my trust and respect, and I felt confident in switching my care to him. He carefully listened to my concerns, thoroughly explained my MRI results, including the risks/benefits of surgery, and clearly answered all of my questions. Knowing that he trained at MD Anderson and alongside the top neurosurgeons in the US at UCSF was very reassuring. He is in practice with other excellent, very highly respected, experienced, highly rated neurosurgeons, which also speaks volumes. My surgical outcome and recovery so far have been nothing short of a miracle! His staff is polite, timely, very professional, and friendly. My entire family and I are so incredibly grateful to Dr. Mayer for my better-than-expected results and recovery! I highly recommend him without reservation to anyone who needs neurosurgery.

We came to Dr. Mayer for a second opinion for my scoliosis, and decided to go with him for surgery. His down to earth manner makes him stand out from other surgeons. His care for me after the surgery was what was remarkable. He never treats you like “just a patient”. So happy I went with him!

Dr. Mayer is a wizard. I suffered from chin to chest syndrome for years. I spoke to many doctors, including UT SW Spine Center, who said there was nothing they could do. Dr. Mayer said he could fix my neck and back, but he didn’t sugar-coat anything. I knew what to expect right from the beginning. It’s been difficult, but 2 months in, my neck supports my head, I am walking and even driving. I know I have months of physical therapy ahead, but I am ecstatic. I can’t praise Dr. Mayer enough
